BelCoeur means "Beautiful Heart". We believe in breeding Labrador Retrievers that conform to the AKC breed standard, are successful in the field, and have delightful temperaments ~ BelCoeur. BelCoeur Labradors was founded in 1997 when we purchased three beautiful black lab sisters: CAN CH Interlochen's Satin's Sophia, Mariah, and Lucinda. Sophia a finished Canadian Championed pointed in the United States, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in August of 2002. Mariah and Luci regularly serve as Therapy dogs. All three girls have produced beautiful, healthy litters. Mariah's son, CAN CH BelCoeur's Zippin' Attitude JH earned his field title in four straight tests! He will be working on his SH with Jeff Jennings of Whispering Hills Labradors later in the Fall. Our handsome boy, CAN CH Interlochen III (Sonny's Boy), is pointed in the United States and will soon be finishing his field title. He has produced some very promising puppies. We are located on 15 acres overlooking both woods and meadow, just next to the Nisqually River. We are a small "hobby" kennel and rarely breed more than one litter a year. All of our breeding stock is certified by the OFA to be free of hip and elbow dysplasia and eyes are cleared annually. Our dogs are, first and foremost, our beloved pets and companions. Puppies are born in our bedroom. They are handled and socialized by our five children, our dogs, our cats, and us. Puppies go to their new homes between seven and eight weeks. All puppies have had their first shots, wormed for internal parasites, had their dew claws removed, and have been micro-chipped. All puppies are guaranteed to be free of genetic problems to the best of our knowledge. We believe that breeding is a great responsibility and have made a lifetime commitment to every puppy we produce. If, for any reason, a buyer cannot care for a puppy purchased from us, our our contract specifies that the dog, no matter the age or physical condition, must be returned to us. We have been active in breed rescue and are active members of Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association. Visitors, by appointment, are always welcome! |
